Kyan Loomans learns from race meet, looks ahead to Final

Race Report: Kyan Loomans

Rotorua 01/03/2020 MX Nationals ROUND THREE 125cc seniors.

Sunday was a mixed bag, 1st race I had an average start, not the smartest lines choices and I finished 8th.

2nd race began with another average start  but I learnt from Race One and rode a lot better to finish 8th again.

Last and 3rd race I got off to an average start again, but had a fire in my belly as I seem to do really well at the end of the day on rough tracks. I was making passes everywhere, got to 6th, but changed my line choice and the front tyre washed out and over the bars I went! The crash left me with a sore neck so I had to bail out and DNF.

I have enough in-race speed, but need to work on my starts and consistency.

It has been a huge learning curve racing in the seniors class. But I can DO IT, this is my 1st year stepping up so I have plenty of time to get consistent before the next race season in October :-).

Come and say "hi" at the Final Round of the Fox New Zealand Motocross Championship on 15 March 2020 at Digger McEwan MX Park in Taupo, I'd love your support.

I appreciate everything Yamaha NZ, JCR Josh Coppins Racing, team bLUcRU and Bayride Motorcycles do for me. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for their continued support.

I also appreciate Rhys from Carter Coaching for helping me reach my ultimate potential and thank you to my other sponsors Pirini Motorbike Park,100 percent NZ, Bell Power Sports NZ, Alpinestars NZ ,Crown Kiwi Enterprises, Complete Motorcyles, Workshopgraphics and Pirelli Moto NZ for all their support.
