Aprilia History
With 294 Grand Prix races won in Road Racing World Championship, Aprilia holds the record for the most wins of any European manufacturer in the history of maximum motorcycle competition. These are joined by an impressive 54 world titles: 38 in Road Racing World Championship (20 in 125 and 18 in 250), 7 in Superbike (Rider and Manufacturer double win in 2010, 2012 and 2014, manufacturers in 2013) and 9 in Off Road disciplines (7 in Supermoto and 2 in Trial).
In December 2004 Aprilia becomes part of the Piaggio Group which, with the reorganisation of the Noale Racing Division, takes the Veneto-based brand to victories in World Championship Motorcycle Racing and broadens the horizons of sport activity: from the return to the off road discipline, world rally to the début – in 2009 – of the Aprilia RSV4 in World Superbike.
During the same period Aprilia has also accumulated 28 World Titles and a countless collection of European and national titles. Every weekend, all over the world, Aprilia motorcycles take to the track on international and local circuits, holding high the honour of Italian and European motorcycling, feeding the biker’s desire to race and raising up young riders destined to enter into the world championship world.
Tuaraeg 660
The Tuareg shares the engine platform derivative from the RS660 sports and Tuono 660 naked bikes.
The 660cc parallel-twin engine that debuted in the supersport machines has been retuned for peak power of 60kW, while it is complemented by a maximum torque figure of 70Nm, much of it developed at low and middling revs.
Weighing in at 187kg before fluids and, with an 18L fuel tank and other liquids, that means a wet weight of around 204kg. So a bit more power and weight than its rival, Yamaha’s Tenere 700.
Ground clearance is a claimed 240mm and seat height is 860mm. Wheels are 21 front and 18 inches rear.

Add to all this a choice of five predefined riding modes for different track and road conditions and you have all the ingredients for a truly thrilling riding experience.
APRC SYSTEM
Originally developed for use in racing then fine-tuned for the road, the APRC system is an advanced electronic control solution. It is a total package designed to ensure safety on roads and improved performance on the track.
The RS 660 boasts the latest APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) package of electronic controls. This advanced inertial six-axis navigation system uses internal gyroscopes and acceleration sensors to understand the engine’s status as it relates to the road in real time and provide instant adjustments to help improve performance and safety.
An evolution of a system that was designed for highest-level racing, the RS 660’s APRC package includes:
- ATC: Aprilia Traction Control, adjustable traction control based on precise, high-performance operating logic.
- AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control
- ACC: Aprilia Cruise Control which maintains your set speed without touching the throttle.
- AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, an electronic gear system that enables extremely fast gear shifts without closing the throttle or using the clutch. It also includes a downshift function for changing down without touching the clutch. Also available as an optional extra is a software that enables you to implement a reverse shift pattern without having to substitute any parts.
- AEB: Aprilia Engine Brake, for controlling engine braking when closing the throttle down.
- AEM: Aprilia Engine Map, with a range of different maps that vary engine power output and character.

Tuono V4 The inimitable Tuono
The inimitable Hypernaked offers two exciting choices.
The Tuono V4 Factory confirms its reputation as the ultimate adrenalin machine, setting hearts thumping and pulses racing and delivering uncompromised, unbeatable fun both on the road and track. On the other side, the new ergonomics and specially-designed accessories make the Tuono V4 the perfect companion for touring and adventures, without, of course, sacrificing on speed.
Setting the benchmark
The Aprilia Tuono V4 continues to raise the bar in the Hypernaked category with never-before-seen levels of performance and sophistication, the result of Aprilia know-how and the unrivalled experience of the inventors of this class of bike. They took a superbike and created a vehicle that delivers sheer joy on the road and track alike. It’s little wonder it has been described as “the most extraordinary sports bike you can buy, with performance and finishes second to none”.
The Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory and Tuono V4
The Factory title is bestowed upon those Aprilia bikes that have proved their mettle on the track and comparative tests around the world. The Tuono V4 Factory continues to push the boundaries and forge ahead of rivals, new and old, that every year try to knock it off the top podium in the class invented by Aprilia.
The Tuono V4 is no slouch either in the speed department, but with new ergonomics and specially-designed accessories, it is the perfect companion for touring and adventures near and far.
RSV4 The definitive Superbike
The RSV4 is much more than a pair of wheels and a powerful engine. The culmination of an ambitious project undertaken by the Aprilia Racing Division and adopting the very best available technology, it features integrated aerodynamic winglets, improved aerodynamic efficiency, 217 horsepower and more torque than ever, all seamlessly combined on the signature Aprilia chassis. This is a true masterpiece that is destined to send your pulse racing the moment you set your eyes on it and will have you whooping with exhilaration every time you touch the throttle.
Once again, the Aprilia RSV4 has done the seemingly impossible, taking aerodynamic efficiency up another notch with its integrated aerodynamic winglets and a double-layered fairing.
Then there is the racing world-derived inverted swingarm and new electronics package with advanced APRC, to say nothing of a mighty 217 horsepower, increased torque and, of course, the unmistakable Aprilia chassis.
Cruising through rounds of rigorous comparative testing the world over, the RSV4 proved its mettle, rising to the occasion like a true champion
MotoGP aerodynamics
Instead of being exposed appendages on the sides of the bike, the winglets are now integrated into the double fairing. Analysed using software and in the wind tunnel, their efficiency has been rigorously tested on the road and track by Aprilia Racing’s aerodynamic engineers. The result is a bike that delivers even greater stability, aerodynamics and performance than ever before.
Aprilia RSV4 and RSV4 Factory
The RSV4 is also available in a Factory option. Common to both is the revamped V4 1099cc engine, but the Factory version sports standard elements such as forged aluminium wheel rims, an Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system and Brembo Stylema brake callipers.
