Aprilia History

With 294 Grand Prix races won in Road Racing World Championship, Aprilia holds the record for the most wins of any European manufacturer in the history of maximum motorcycle competition. These are joined by an impressive 54 world titles: 38 in Road Racing World Championship (20 in 125 and 18 in 250), 7 in Superbike (Rider and Manufacturer double win in 2010, 2012 and 2014, manufacturers in 2013) and 9 in Off Road disciplines (7 in Supermoto and 2 in Trial).

In December 2004 Aprilia becomes part of the Piaggio Group which, with the reorganisation of the Noale Racing Division, takes the Veneto-based brand to victories in World Championship Motorcycle Racing and broadens the horizons of sport activity: from the return to the off road discipline, world rally to the début – in 2009 – of the Aprilia RSV4 in World Superbike.

During the same period Aprilia has also accumulated 28 World Titles and a countless collection of European and national titles. Every weekend, all over the world, Aprilia motorcycles take to the track on international and local circuits, holding high the honour of Italian and European motorcycling, feeding the biker’s desire to race and raising up young riders destined to enter into the world championship world.

We have ridden the 2017/2018 RSVRF and were expecting a track-only machine. Boy were we wrong! This is a beast for sure, but what an amazing road bike, it is actually so comfortable and ride-able.

Unanimously acclaimed by critics and sought after by bikers from every corner of the globe, the RSV4 has always been the undisputed segment representative, the reference point for sportiness and performance, the best example of what can be achieved by exploiting the valuable experience of a victorious Racing Department like Aprilia’s which, in its brief history has taken 54 championship titles


2018 Tuono 1100 V4

Tuono is Italian for Thunder, and the Tuono V4 does not disappoint! With two versions available, same-same but different! The Tuono RF is the focused version with Ohlins track tuned suspension and RSV4RF look-alike tail piece, while the Tuono RR has road tuned SACHS suspension and a pillion friendly seat which is really useful for strapping a bag to.

It wasn't only the weather to pan out being cool and fresh on this stunning Saturday afternoon, that statement also rang true with the latest offering from Aprilia. Introducing the 2017/8 Tuono RR. Packed with features from a full colour T.F.T dash to the likes of a Quick shifter up and auto throttle blip down for amazingly smooth gear changing without having to trouble the clutch whilst dancing your way through the gearbox. Another feature that has been added to this years model is a very easy to use cruise control system all of which is operated from the left hand switch block, this allows the rider to sit at the posted speed limit without having to keep your eyes glued to the speedo just to make sure you're not attracting the unwanted attention from the boys in blue, it is a feature that is very valuable on our modern motorcycles with 170 + HP that would happily see you cruising without any fuss at speeds that would see you destined to a long walk home. The Tuono also has all the standard features of adjustable ABS, Traction control and ride modes that has come to be expected from any of the latest high powered machines of today. The traction control is especially easy to adjust while on the fly by means of two buttons operated via your left hand thumb and forefinger, however with the confidence inspiring level of grip offered by not only the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres fitted as standard but the very well set up chassis and suspension you may find yourself never needing to adjust the traction control from one of the lower settings of intervention as was the case when I had the opportunity to test this bike for myself.

Aprilia SR125

At Bayride we love scooters and the SR125 is a great example of price/ performance/ practical. Modern, clean and eager engine for exhilarating fun even when carving through the daily urban jungle.

The 125 4-stroke version of the Aprilia SR Motard,  can even take medium range trips safely in its stride. Braking safety is guaranteed by the 220 mm front disc backed up by the powerful 140 mm  rear drum.




This is an AWESOME machine, come and test ride to find out. Such a lot of fun and the HP figures do not tell the truth, the Dorso has plenty of grunt.

Tuono V4RR & RF

It is hard not to swear when talking about the Tuono. It IS a beast.

A direct descendant of the RSV4, the seven-time World SBK champion bike and newly crowned champion on the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, Tuono V4 1100 is adrenaline in its purest state.

The performance of its unrivalled, revamped V4 has been increased to 1100 cc and 173 hp; more efficient to ride thanks to its revamped chassis and the further development of the already exceptional APRC electronics systems package, but at the same time more convenient and even safer for road use
