AFTER SATURDAY’S SPRINT WIN, SECOND PLACE FOR BEZZECCHI MARKS
HIS NINTH PODIUM OF THE SEASON – JORGE MARTÍN IN THIRTEENTH

Misano, 14 September 2025 – Sunday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli
saw another positive result for Aprilia Racing. Marco Bezzecchi once again stood out
as one of the day’s top performers, delivering a strong showing in front of his home
crowd. The Italian rider took the lead into the first corner and defended it confidently.
He only lost the position halfway through the race but remained in contention until the
finish. Bezzecchi crossed the checkered flag in an excellent second place just 0.568
seconds behind the winner, earning Aprilia's ninth podium of the season. This tally also
includes his Sprint victory on Saturday and his win in the main race at Silverstone.
It was a tougher day for Jorge Martín on Sunday. His bike stopped during the formation
lap, forcing him to head back to the pits and restart on his second bike. As a result, he
received two long lap penalties, dropping him to the back of the field. Despite the
setback, he showed determination.

MARCO BEZZECCHI

It was wonderful. I’m happy because I gave it absolutely everything. Of course, I’m
disappointed because I wanted to win – I really wanted it with all my heart. We had
incredible pace, and being able to keep that speed right to the end was amazing”.

JORGE MARTÍN

“When I reached Turn 13, I saw the bike was shutting down. I tried to restart it, but
nothing happened. So I got off and started running back to the pit. By the time I arrived,
the pit lane had already closed, and I was told I would start from my original grid
position but with two long lap penalties. I think I handled the situation very maturely.
With two long laps, it's hard to recover, so I focused on gaining as much experience
as possible and identifying areas where I can improve as a racer”.

MASSIMO RIVOLA

An almost perfect weekend, thanks to a truly outstanding Marco. We’ve never
achieved great results at Misano, so taking pole on Saturday was something special –
especially for him, in front of his home crowd – and then winning the Sprint is definitely
something he’ll remember. The target in his mind – and in ours – was to win the race,
but we'll keep pushing to beat Marc Márquez, and that has to be our goal for the closing
stages of the season. As for Jorge Martín, first of all, it was great to see him go straight
into Q2 on Friday, thanks to the teamwork. It’s a shame about what happened during
the formation lap, and we’ll check what went wrong. Jorge is steadily gaining
confidence with the bike and Monday's test will be crucial to help him to prepare in the
best possible way for the upcoming non-European rounds.
