The fuel filter provides the fuel system with protection against contamination from dirt, dust and particles in pump fuel. Over time, a fuel filter can become clogged, restricting fuel flow and causing the fuel pump to work under additional stress, which can lead to premature failure.
Replacing the fuel filter is inexpensive preventative maintenance that helps improve fuel quality and flow while increasing the life of the fuel pump. Replacement is recommended every 6-12 months depending on application and usage.
